About

To begin the journey of Season 10, we’re celebrating how we got started by revisiting our first production, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE.

Written by Paula Vogel, one of our biggest supporters over the past ten years, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE was the winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize, the OBIE Award for Best New Play, and the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play. The Rocky Mountain News described Curious’ 1999 production as “Theatre at its finest…a tremendous script, potent directing, and an unforgettable cast.”

A hilarious, haunting and surprising tale of survival as seen through the lens of a troubling relationship between a young girl and an older man, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE is the story of a woman who learns the rules of the road and life from behind the wheel.
