1080 Acoma Street is a historic church built in 1895, originally serving the Swedish Evangelical Free Church, later becoming the home of The Upper Room United Pentecostal Church through 1995.
The space has been outfitted with a grid structure to accommodate lighting and sound instrumentation. The facility has an auditorium divided between an orchestra level and an open-style balcony, outfitted with 177 theatre seats.
Our rehearsal hall and reception room is named after Mamie Eisenhower, who is said to have attended church in the building when it was the Swedish Evangelical Free Church. It can accommodate 100 people.
As Curious Theatre Company is primarily a producing organization, rentals are secondary to our daily functioning. While we are pleased to rent our spaces if available, please understand that we are not able to provide services or equipment that most rental facilities do.
Due to our own ongoing rehearsal and performance schedule, rental availability is very limited. We can not accommodate reoccurring events or runs of theatrical shows. One-off rentals may be available on a case by case basis, but are typically only available on Mondays – Wednesdays.
*$50/hr =4 hr minimum & 12 hr maximum at this rate
*Daily rate=$600
*Curious Theatre Liaison=$25/hr with a 4 hour minimum
* Refundable Damage Deposit = $150
*Deposit=1/2 of total room rental
*Curious Theatre Technician=$25/hr with a 4 hr minimum
If you need to program lights, use projection, use our sound board or otherwise perform tasks that require alteration with our equipment, you are required to have a Curious Theatre Technician on hand for the whole rental time.
*Curious Theatre Staff (FOH, Ushers, etc)=$15/hr with a 4hr minimum
*Bartender: Hosted Bar $15/hr/ Cash Bar=$10/hr

If an organization is a non-profit organization and presents proper exemption paperwork, a 20% discount is available on rental fees only. Staff and Set up fees are not eligible for a discount.
