“Am I too old to switch forms-
To learn a new language-
to pass down these stories
with a new tongueTo take from my past
And create new ways
For our stories to escape
I now write down each day
Speak out loud
The moments-
attach to the cloud
-record on air-
To somehow make these times concrete
somewhere-
As plans move forward
to silence and erase
Our history
I keep trying to find
as many ways
to preserve and share
how we got from there
To Here
So we can make it
over-“– Iris Spears
