CURIOUS NEW VOICES

May 4, 2014 from 6pm-8pm
SUNDAY SUPPER WITH TCHAIKOVSKY
Location: Curious Theatre Company
Price: Suggested $10 donation

Please join Curious Theatre Company, along with The Colorado Chamber players, as we proudly present a new play with live music entitled SOUL IN TURMOIL: The Private Life of Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  Written by Curious Company Member Josh Hartwell this play illuminates the personal challenge faced by Tchaikovsky; a man leading a public life of acclaim while forced to conceal his sexual orientation.  String arrangements by Tchaikovsky are eloquently woven into the play, exposing audiences to the work of the classical composer as the script explores the tensions of this public figure’s private inner turmoil.  How does a life lived in secrecy shape the way we present ourselves to the world?  And at what point does holding onto that secret alter who we really are?

Please join us, and our special guests Rainbow Alley, for this uniquely artistic and important event.

A light supper will be served before the show.

Over brunch-style hors d’oeuvres, join Scenic Designer Michael Duran and Costume Designer Kevin Brainerd in a conversation about their inspiration and the process of designing for this production.
