Refugees and Immigrants: A GoodCinema & Curious Theatre Company Partnership

We welcome the tired, the poor, the huddled masses.
Together we fight so all can breathe free.

Join us for two events featuring conversation and sparking action!

GoodCinema and Curious Theatre Company are teaming up this summer to tackle the topics of immigration and refugees. The two are offering a Ticket Package for discounted admission to Curious Theater Company’s Building the Wall on July 12 and GoodCinema’s screening of Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. on July 28. For $37 you’ll get tickets for both events and participate in two great community discussions featuring the International Rescue Committee.

Building the Wall (July 12 @ 7:30 pm, Curious Theatre Company) dives into one of the most pressing, polarizing issues facing our country today. It’s a terrifying and gripping exploration of what happens if we let fear win. After executive actions, an immigration round-up of unprecedented scale, and a declaration of martial law, Rick finds himself caught up as the frontman of the administration’s edicts and loses his humanity. The performance will be followed up with a discussion led by GoodCinema and the International Rescue Committee.

Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. (July 28 @ 12:30 PM, Alamo Drafthouse Denver ), meanwhile, chronicles the critically acclaimed artist’s remarkable journey from refugee immigrant to one of the most outspoken and provocative voices in music today. An engaging panel discussion will take place after the film, featuring both local refugees and experts from the International Rescue Committee, who are partnering with GoodCinema for the event. Plan to show up ready to learn and leave feeling inspired to act.

Tickets: $37
Includes admission to both events!
